What is oil and gas recovery adsorption + absorption treatment process?

Volatile organic compounds, referred to as VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds)), are usually used as solvents in petrochemical, printing, artificial leather and electronic components, baking varnishes and pharmaceuticals. If these organic solvents volatilize into the atmospheric environment, they will not only cause serious pollution to the atmospheric environment, but also cause harm to human health after the human body breathes in the polluted gas. For example, benzene, as a solvent, volatilizes into the atmosphere, which can not only be absorbed by the skin of the human body, but also enter the human body through the respiratory system, causing chronic or acute poisoning. Benzene compounds will not only cause certain damage to the central nervous system of the human body, but also may cause nervous system disorders. After entering the human body, it will also harm the blood and hematopoietic organs, and even cause bleeding symptoms or sepsis. Under the action of oxidation, benzene can be oxidized into phenol in the living body, resulting in abnormal liver function, which is very unfavorable to the growth and development of bones, and induces aplastic anemia. Therefore, ACGIH lists benzene as a potential carcinogen. Halogenated hydrocarbons can cause neurological syndrome, thrombocytopenia, hepatosplenomegaly and other adverse conditions, and are likely to cause cancer.

Therefore, we must control VOC emissions and do a good job in the treatment of oil and gas recovery. This is not only responsible for the environment, but also responsible for our life and health.

At present, oil and gas recovery and VOC waste gas treatment technologies mainly include condensation + adsorption treatment process, absorption + adsorption treatment process and membrane separation technology.

The absorption + adsorption treatment process uses the porous structure of the adsorbent (granular activated carbon and activated carbon fiber) to capture the VOC in the exhaust gas. Activated carbon can be desorbed and regenerated. The dry vacuum pump is used to evacuate. The desorbed oil and gas are recovered through the absorption tower. The absorbent used in the absorption tower is low-grade gasoline or light diesel oil in the storage tank area, and kerosene can also be used. The organic waste gas containing VOC is passed through the activated carbon bed, the VOC in it is adsorbed by the adsorbent, the waste gas is purified, and discharged into the atmosphere. The treatment process of absorption + adsorption method is mainly used for aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, most chlorinated solvents, common alcohols, some ketones and esters, spray paint, printing and adhesives, etc. The temperature is not high and the humidity is not high , It is more effective especially for the purification and recovery of halides when the exhaust volume is large.

The condensation + adsorption treatment process is after the exhaust gas is separated by the absorption and adsorption treatment process. After desorption, a small amount of oil and gas is returned to the system inlet for circulation, and the exhaust gas leaving the condenser still contains a relatively high concentration of VOC, which cannot meet the environmental emission standards. Since most VOCs are flammable and explosive gases, limited by the explosion limit, the VOC content in the gas will not be too high, so to achieve a high recovery rate, it is necessary to use a very low temperature condensing medium or high pressure measures, just use To the treatment process of condensation + adsorption. This treatment method is mainly suitable for the treatment of organic waste gas with high concentration and relatively low temperature.

The basis of membrane separation technology is to use a polymer membrane with selective permeability to organic matter, which is 10-100 times more permeable to organic vapor than air, so as to realize the separation of organic matter. The simplest membrane separation is a single-stage membrane separation system, which directly passes the compressed gas through the membrane surface to realize the separation of VOC. The single-stage membrane is difficult to meet the separation requirements due to the low degree of separation, while the multi-stage membrane separation system will greatly increase the investment in equipment, so there is still a lot of room for research in this area of technology. The membrane separation treatment process is suitable for the recovery of high-concentration and high-value organic matter, and its equipment costs are relatively high.

Absorption + adsorption treatment process and condensation + adsorption treatment process are the two main treatment methods used in oil and gas recovery on the market at present, and each has its own characteristics. Activated carbon adsorbent has strong adsorption capacity, high hardness, and small pressure drop. So that the adsorption capacity maintains better stability. Absorption + adsorption adopts imported dry vacuum pump and accessories
